This page explains exactly what benchmyrig.com stores in your browser, why, and how to change your choice. We believe this is the shortest honest cookie policy you will read today.
The short version
We currently set no tracking cookies at all. The site uses two small entries in your browser's localStorage — both strictly functional, neither shared with anyone:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | localStorage (functional) | Remembers your dark or light theme choice | Until you clear it |
| bmr-consent | localStorage (functional) | Remembers your cookie-consent choice so the banner stays dismissed | Until you clear it |
localStorage entries are not cookies in the technical sense — they are never transmitted to our server or anyone else's. They exist only on your device.
Third-party requests
The requirements checker page loads the Three.js animation library from cdnjs.cloudflare.com on desktop. That is a content request, not a tracking cookie; Cloudflare sees the standard technical data of any web request. No other page makes third-party requests.
What "Accept all" currently means
Honestly: today, nothing extra. There are no analytics or advertising cookies to enable yet. The choice exists so that if we add display advertising or privacy-respecting analytics later, they will load only for visitors who accepted — and this page will be updated first with a full list of what is set, by whom, and for how long.
Changing your choice
- Click "Cookie settings" in the footer of any page to reopen the consent banner and choose again.
- Or clear the site's data in your browser (Settings › Privacy › Site data) — the banner will reappear on your next visit.
